Foraging at the seaside

Whilst in Seaton Crew walking around looking for ideal loaction spots to capture both the surrounding land and the industrial works, I was fascinated by the things I was coming accross.

After seeing a few logs of wood, I seen one which was very long and thin, I went over to this log to find it was piping possibly from the industrial works site opposite. To me this was intriguing to find something so manmade in such a natural habitat, knowing that this pipe does not belong here yet it was sat blending in well with its surroundings. This to me is acceptable, it shows how us humans have had the ability and knowledge to create advance modernised technology and for it to work well with the past, the tradition, the natural, as modernisation and tradition should work together. However, my point is is that we can not loose the tradition. We as a society are forever foccusing on modernisation, wanting to modernise everything. If we dont take a step back and realise what we are doing to our planet by completely modernising everything and forgetting tradition, the need for materialism will increase, and we will no longer be able to see the true beaty and herritage behind anything. We are creating a new world of meaninglessness. 

As for my project, I want to interpretate this point through my clothing, showing how tradition and modernisation can work together simultaneously.
