Here is my inspration for my theme after researching leather tanneries around the UK and meeting with natural dyig artist Rachel Powell, coming to conclusion that in order to evolve, tradition and modernisation must work together simultaneously. This goes for the man made chemical compound mordant - Alum used throughout the natural dying process. The two must work together to produce a finished product.
From the two completely different materials, the chemical compound Alum being very cold and hard looking to the clash of the warm endearing bark, I pulled together using the colour picker tool on PhotoShop a true representation of a clashing colour palette.
